Why I think this is important

Major League Baseball has reclassified the Negro Leagues as part of the major leagues. What does this mean? Records will be changed and updated. For example, Ted Williams has been listed as the last player to bat a .400 average (.406). Now, Josh Gibson (the black “Babe Ruth” ) who batted .441 in 1943 and Artie Wilson who had a .431 average in 1948 will be added.
